8th Grade Graduation

Wednesday, May 25th, 2016
6:30pm in the CMS Gymnasium

Central Middle School
18146 Oak Park Ave
Tinley Park, IL

The last day of 8th grade student attendance is Wednesday, May 25, 2016. Students will be dismissed at approximately 10:30 am. Students must be in attendance at the May 25th graduation practice in order to participate in the evening graduation ceremony.

Graduation will be held in Centralís main gym and students will each receive four blue tickets which will get you into the gymnasium. You will also be given two red tickets which will get you into the cafetorium to watch the ceremony live on the big screen. It is impossible to honor requests for extra tickets. However, many families do not need all of their tickets. It would be wise to make your needs known to friends prior to the week of graduation. Each student receives these tickets on the same day that the gowns are issued. It is the studentís responsibility to give these tickets to parents. Lost tickets will not be replaced.

Central's 7th Graders Attend the BHSD 228 STEM Competition

Forty of our seventh grade students had the opportunity to attend the BHSD 228 STEM Competition. They were able to observe high school students participating in various competitions such as rocket launching, bridge testing, and egg bungee drops. The seventh graders participated in their own STEM competition when they received the task of designing a straw rocket that could travel the greatest distance. By applying their physics knowledge through multiple testing opportunities, our students launched their rockets! The pairs of students who designed the most effective rockets received an award and recognition at the conference!

The Voice's Mark Hood visits Fulton's music class

Mrs. Kaiser and Ms. Pasikís 5th grade classes are huge fans of Mark Hood from The Voice. In Mr. Glaseís music class, the students put together a video message asking Mark Hood to visit Fulton school. Mark Hood responded and set up a time with Mr. Glase for a surprise visit to Fulton school. The 5th grade class was shocked and excited to meet a star! Mr. Hood made a lasting impression on the students and inspired them to live out their dreams.
