About Memorial School Work Hard . . . . Fly High!
Memorial School is located at 6701 W. 179th St. in Tinley Park, IL. We are a Pre-kindergarten through 5th grade building, serving over 300 students.
We are proud of our supportive PTA that provides our community the support and volunteerism that makes Memorial a family-centered school. We welcome all of our families to participate in our PTA and be a part of Memorial's traditions.
This year will be an exciting year of learning for all of Memorial's community. We are an inclusive learning community, rich in our traditions of providing all of our students opportunities to grow and learn with their peers. We encourage you to watch our website as we share our learning and achievements this school year. We celebrate academic excellence for all. Our school improvement days this year will focus directly upon our students and their learning.

Memorial School's Mission StatementOur mission is to create a safe, respectful and nurturing environment where students can maximize their academic, social, physical, and emotional potential in order to become responsible citizens and life-long learners. Monthly Character StandardsAt Memorial we are engaged in a school wide-program celebrating seven basic qualities. Each month is devoted to one of these qualities. During the month, classroom meetings are held to learn about and discuss the character standard of the month.
August/SeptemberRespect - Students will be able to understand and accept the rights of individuals, including self and groups in our society (school, community and legal guidelines). OctoberSelf Discipline - Students will be able to understand and display positive decision making skills and self control in relationships and also be able to understand and establish goals using effective organizational skills.
November/DecemberGiving - Students will be able to understand and display appreciation to and for others (to recognize the worth of other people). JanuaryResponsibility - Students will be able to understand and display excellence in their interactions with others and be accountable for those interactions (personal best in context of school, community and social standards). FebruaryHonesty - Students will be able to understand and display trustworthiness (state of being dependable and reliable) and integrity (application of sound and upright principles in decision making).
March/AprilPerseverance - Students will be able to understand and display persistence (ability to keep trying). May/JuneCompassion - Students will be able to understand and display empathy toward others (allowing ourselves to see the perspective of others).
